Formed in 2003, BASE is a 501c6 non-profit advocacy organization that acts as a responsible “voice” and advocate for business and industry in southeastern North Carolina. Our focus is regional and we work on behalf of business and industry in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and Onslow counties.
BASE works cooperatively with all other regional business and economic development organizations to further the best interests of business and industry. We do not compete with these organizations – we complement their efforts as the full-time ADVOCATE for business.
BASE is the ONLY business organization that is 100% committed to advocacy. Other membership organizations have advocacy as part of their mission, but this is our one and only mission. BASE is solely committed to advocating on behalf of the business community and our advocacy partners.
Because advocacy is our singular mission, we are laser focused on achieving the best results for our community. We are not distracted with other priorities and obligations, so we operate very effectively and efficiently to achieve our goals. Our members’ investment provides one of the best ROIs of any business organization in the Cape Fear region.
As President and CEO of BASE, Tyler Newman attends numerous meetings with a wide range of legislators, regulators, industry organizations and others to consistently represent the best interests of business and industry throughout southeastern NC. BASE has formal advocacy partnerships with the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and numerous Home Builders and REALTORS Associations to ensure the voice of business and industry is well represented in southeastern North Carolina.
Our mission is to support public policy that attracts a mix of business and industry and enhances economic opportunities in southeastern North Carolina. We provide value to our members by tracking all local, state and federal issues that impact our economy and quality of life. We work with stakeholders to mitigate negative issues and promote policies that support the best interests of the regional business community.

What is NCPAC?
A key component of the REALTOR® Party is the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (NCPAC). The sole purpose of NCPAC is a simple goal: To help elect real estate-friendly candidates to public office.
NCPAC backs candidates who understand and support the interests of North Carolina REALTORS®, regardless of a candidate's party affiliation. RPAC backs candidates in primary, general, run-off and deficit elections.
RPAC is effective because it allows REALTORS® to work with all parties to enact legislation that protects the real estate industry, current and future homeowners, the real estate-based economy and property rights.

NC RPAC is excited to showcase our newly designed state-level award pins. Qualifying investors will receive pins based on the following recognition levels:
$100 - $249 – Cardinal Club
$250 - $499 – Capitol Club - $999 – Governor’s Club
Contributions to RPAC are not deductible for federal or state income tax purposes. Contributions are voluntary and are used for political purposes. Suggested amounts are merely guidelines and you may contribute more or less than the suggested amounts. The National Association of REALTORS® and its state and local associations will not favor or disadvantage any member because of the amount contributed or a decision not to contribute. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. Your contribution is split between National PAC and the State PAC in your state. NC PAC supports the efforts of National NCPAC and contributes a portion of its contributions to National NCPAC. Contact your State Association or PAC for information about the percentages of your contribution provided to National RPAC and to the State PAC. The National NCPAC portion is used to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 52 U.S.C. 30116. In-kind contributions/donations are not included for the purposes of the National NCPAC State PAC split. NC law requires political committees to report the name, mailing address, job title or profession and name of employer or employee's specific field for each individual whose contributions aggregate is in excess of $50 in an election cycle. Contributions can only be accepted from individuals in the form of personal checks or credit cards. Contributions from corporations or business entities cannot be accepted. This solicitation was paid for by NCPAC.

The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) is the local association level of the largest trade association in the nation presently serving its members comprised of REALTORS®, Appraisers and Affiliate Members.Chartered in 1959 by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® represents the interests of its members in southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina.
Members have the right, through membership, to use the term REALTOR®, which is a registered trademark identifying a professional in real estate who belongs to the association and ascribes to a strict Code of Ethics. The Association offers a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and tax data interface featuring a comprehensive list of available properties for sale and general property information for southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina. Members’ interests are well-represented on local, state and federal legislative issues through the Governmental Affairs Department.
Networking opportunities are provided through committee service and membership events. A large number of Educational programs are offered to members to provide REALTOR® Designations, fulfill Continuing Education requirements and to increase the professionalism of members to better serve their clients and customers.
