Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® releases real estate statistics for March 2019; Units sold, total sales volume up from February

SHALLOTTE, N.C. – Brunswick County’s residential real estate market saw a spike in sales volume in March, according to the latest statistics released by the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®. The number of units sold jumped 87% and total sales volume increased 74% over February 2019.

“Real estate sales in Brunswick County skyrocketed in March compared to February,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “Spring Fever is setting in, with more people listing homes and those homes selling quickly. If our recent days-on-market stats continue to hold true, homes being listed now will sell in less than 100 days. All signs point to a continued strong market as Summer approaches.”

Brunswick County’s March 2019 numbers were fairly consistent with 2018. The number of new listings decreased slightly in March 2019 compared to last year, dropping from 704 to 673, a 4.4% decrease. The number of units sold also dipped slightly from 450 in March 2018 to 437 last month, a 2.9% decrease. The average sale price decreased from $283,911 to $280,933, while total sales volume dropped 3.9%, from $127.76 million to $122.77 million.
