Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®, Partners Donate Over $40,000 to Brunswick Family Assistance to provide bikes, helmets to nearly 500 Brunswick County children
The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR)’s annual Bucks for Bikes fundraiser generated a record $40,670 in donations this year, thanks to the help of partners in St. James and a generous contribution from the Gallatin Association of REALTORS® in Bozeman, MT. Bucks for Bikes, which began in 2012 raises funds for Brunswick Family Assistance (BFA) to help purchase bikes, wagons, skateboards and other toys with wheels to give to children in need through Brunswick County each Christmas. Residents of St. James contributed $20,415 to this year’s Bucks for Bikes event, and the Gallatin Association of REALTORS®, which is headed by former BCAR CEO Steve Candler contributed, $5000.
“Brunswick County REALTORS® step up to the plate year after year to help needy children throughout our community during the holiday season,” said Clif Cheek, 2018 BCAR president. “Over 100 of our members contributed this year’s record fundraising total. We are also grateful for the generosity of the residents of St. James as well as the Gallatin Association of REALTORS®. Thanks to their collective generosity, we are able to provide bikes and helmets to nearly 500 children throughout Brunswick County.”

Brunswick Family Assistance (BFA) is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in its 35th year of operation. BFA is dedicated to improving the lives of families and individuals in crisis in Brunswick County who are willing to help themselves by providing emergency assistance and educational and skills development programs.
