NCRMLS Commission Violation Fines
The NCRMLS will implement the new NAR Settlement changes on August 1 and they go into effect on August 17.
From August 1 to 16, you'll have time to adjust to the new rules. You will receive notices and further education for any violations. Starting August 1, you cannot add compensation to the MLS in any form - not in Broker Bay, documents, remarks (public or private).
Starting August 17, any compensation information in the MLS will result in an automatic $1,000 fine from the NCRMLS. There are no waivers.
When you log in to FlexMLS, a pop-up will ask you to confirm your awareness of these changes and the associated fines. If you do not confirm within 30 days, it will automatically accept your confirmation. Declining the new policy will result in loss of MLS access.
When scheduling an appointment to show a property in Broker Bay or any other showing software, you must confirm that you have a written agreement to show the property. All members working with buyers must enter into a written buyer agreement before showing properties. This will be verified by a pop-up when scheduling appointments.
The NCRMLS will host Rules and Regulations Update courses on Zoom several times in August.
