BCAR Contributes to “Adopt-a-REALTOR®” campaign to assist members adversely impacted by Hurricane Matthew

NC REALTORS® recently announced a campaign, dubbed “Adopt a REALTOR®,” to help REALTOR® members who were adversely impacted by Hurricane Matthew. This program, which is administered through Homes4NC, is seeking donations from private donors, members, corporations and associations/boards to assist eligible members with their state and national dues.

The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® board of directors unanimously voted to make a $3000 donation to the fund.  In addition, the board unanimously voted to pay the state and national dues of any primary member of BCAR who is also a member of the Lumberton Council.  This donation paid for 17 BCAR member’ state and national dues and will assist many others who were impacted.

“Our association’s members are committed to the communities in which they live and work,” said Ben Styers, 2017 BCAR President. “Hurricane Mathew negatively impacted many who live in the areas served by our association, and we are glad to be able to help our members whose lives were touched by the storm.”

The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® works with Habitat for Humanity, Brunswick Family Assistance and other groups on a variety of community service projects. All members are encouraged to participate and demonstrate that REALTORS® Care.  Please be on the lookout for upcoming announcements about these opportunities.
