Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® releases real estate statistics for April 2018

Brunswick County’s residential real estate market is showing steady momentum heading into summer, according to the latest statistics released by the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®.

“The unseasonably cold, rainy weather in April wasn’t enough to cool down Brunswick County’s residential real estate market,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “Average sale prices, total sales volume and new listings are up, while available inventory remains tight, with nearly 29% more sales than April of last year and an 8.5% increase in new listings—all signs of healthy, sustained growth,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh.

According to the latest BCAR statistics, the number of new listings increased from 530 in April of 2017 to 575 this year. The number of units sold increased 28.9%, from 346 in April 2017 to 446 last month. The average sales price rose 2.6%, from $263,274 to $269,999. Total sales volume jumped 32.2%, from $91.09 million to $120.42 million.

Despite having 575 new listings and 446 units sold, the months of inventory continues its downward trend to less than five months, and average days on market is less than 100, Walsh noted.
