Brunswick County’s Wilson Sherrill receives NC REALTORS® Region 2 Service Award

 Brunswick County REALTOR® Wilson Sherrill received the NC REALTORS® Region 2 Service Award for 2019 during the state association’s recent conference in Pinehurst. This award recognizes a REALTOR® in each NC REALTORS® region who contributes to local, state and national associations as well as their community.

Sherrill has served the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) in a variety of capacities, including president, vice president, legislative committee chair, executive committee member, budget and finance committee chair, strategic planning committee member, election committee member, nominating committee chair and treasurer. He was named the 2009 BCAR REALTOR® of the Year. 

Additionally, Sherrill has held numerous positions with the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® (NCAR), including serving on the finance committee, bylaws committee and board of directors. He also served as NCAR Region 2 Political Action Committee (PAC) trustee, NCAR PAC trustees treasurer and vice-chair, state political coordinator and RPAC Local Chairman. Sherrill attended the National Association of REALTORS® Convention in 2013 and served as the president/president-elect roundtable moderator at the annual convention and legislative meetings.

Sherrill is a former member of the Sunset Beach Town Council. He has served as committee co-chair, food vendor co-chair and shucking chair for the N.C. Oyster Festival, which is organized by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce. He was named the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year in 2010. Additionally, he has been actively involved in the Brunswick Beaches Consortium and the Sunset Beach Concert Committee. Sherrill also served as president of Sea Trail’s Property Owners Association and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2010. He has also sponsored the Tri-County Youth Baseball Team.
