Brunswick County tops $100 million in real estate sales in February: Highest monthly total since 2005

Brunswick County’s residential real estate market saw its strongest month since October 2005 in February, with total sales volume exceeding $100 million.

“February’s sales numbers were so strong that I ran them multiple times to make sure they were accurate,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “February was the strongest month we’ve seen in over 14 years. Brunswick County’s market is simply red-hot as we approach Spring.”

Brunswick County saw $106,050,000 in total home sales in February 2020, a 51% spike over last February’s $70,250,000. The number of units sold jumped 35.4%, from 260 to 352. The average sale price increased 9.5%, from $270,187 to $295,910, with 21% of sales in the $300,000 to $499,000 price range and 37 homes selling for $500,000 or more. The number of new listings increased 4.1%, from 566 to 589. The highest selling price this month was for a $1.6 million home located on Ocean Isle Beach.
