Brunswick County’s Jim Goodman receives NC REALTORS® Region 2 Service Award, BCAR 2020 REALTOR® of the Year Award

Brunswick County REALTOR® Jim Goodman was recently honored with two major professional awards, one at the state level and one at the local level. Goodman received the NC REALTORS® Region 2 Service Award for 2020. This award that recognizes a REALTOR® in each NC REALTORS® region who contributes to local, state, and national associations as well as their community. The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) also recognized Goodman with its BCAR 2020 REALTOR® of the Year Award.

“Jim Goodman is a model of a true servant leader,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “Throughout his career he has constantly sacrificed his time to help advance our profession and improve our community. He is more than deserving of both the NC REALTORS® Region 2 Service Award and once again being named Brunswick County’s REALTOR® of the Year.”

Goodman has served the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® in numerous capacities, including as president, treasurer and director and chair of the budget, finance, elections, and nominating committees and as a member of the strategic planning committee. He was also named the 2016 BCAR REALTOR® of the Year.

Additionally, Goodman has held numerous positions with the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® (NCAR), including serving on the strategic planning committee, executive committee and legislative committee. He also served as NCAR Region 2 Political Action Committee (PAC) trustee, the NCAR service corporation board of directors as treasurer and was a member of NCAR PAC board of directors. Goodman also served as regional vice president from 2018-2019.

Goodman is a current member of the Oak Island Chamber of Commerce, the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, the Oak Island Moose Lodge, and of the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Church. He is a former member of the Lions Club, the Southport/Oak Island Chamber of Commerce economic development committee, and past president of the Oak Islands Men’s Golf Association. Goodman has also supported and participated in several local Oak Island events and fundraisers.
