Starting January 2025 – New Fair Housing Education Requirement for REALTORS

All REALTORS® are required to complete 2 hours of Fair Housing training
during each Cycle, in addition to the Code of Ethics training requirement.
As you already know, all REALTORS® are required to complete 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics training during each Cycle. A Cycle is a timeframe set by the National Association of REALTORS®. We are currently in Cycle 8, which is January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2027.
The National Association of REALTORS® has decided to add another education requirement for REALTORS®. Starting during Cycle 8, all REALTORS® will be required to complete 2 hours of Fair Housing training, in addition to the 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics training. Failure to complete all education requirements will result in suspension of membership with the National Association of REALTORS®. This will effect your membership with your local Association (such as BCAR).
Fair Housing Course Options

At Home with Diversity Course: Online or In Person
Bias Override Course: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing

Fun Fact: Although local Associations (like BCAR) enforce Code of Ethics training, the National Association of REALTORS® is the organization that requires all REALTORS® to complete the training. This means that all REALTORS® in the country have the exact same Code of Ethics requirement.
