BCAR launches Affordable Housing Fundraiser to support Brunswick Partnership for Housing — Donations matched up to $10,000

The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) is calling on members and the community to support local affordable housing efforts through its Affordable Housing Fundraiser, benefitting the Brunswick Partnership for Housing (BPH). The fundraiser runs through January 30, with an exciting incentive: BCAR Cares will match every donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000, doubling the impact of every gift.

Brunswick Partnership for Housing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving unsheltered families and promoting access to affordable housing in Brunswick County. While BPH supports residents in finding short-term emergency shelter and transitional housing, the organization is also taking a major step forward in addressing long-term housing needs by developing a 7-unit affordable and workforce housing building in Southport, NC.

“BCAR has heard our community’s voice—and we see the need every day in our work,” said Christian Kohler, Chair of the BCAR Cares Committee. “Workforce housing is essential to the strength and stability of our local economy, and this fundraiser is a direct way we can help our neighbors and support a project that will make a lasting difference.”

Fundraiser Goal: $20,000 for Affordable Housing

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $20,000 to support BPH’s predevelopment and site-related costs for the Southport project. As of January 8, the fundraiser has raised just over $7,000, and BCAR encourages donations to help reach the finish line before the deadline.

Double Your Donation

Every donation made to the fundraiser through January 30 will be matched by BCAR Cares, up to $10,000 total in matching dollars.

“This is an opportunity to make a huge difference,” added Kim Fleming, Vice Chair of BCAR Cares Committee. “But we can’t do it without the collective effort of our members and community partners. We all know it takes a village.”

Recognition for Donors

As a thank-you, all donors will receive recognition on BCAR social media and will be included in a post-fundraiser press release once the campaign concludes.
