Brunswick County Association of Realtors leverages Fair Housing Grant to advance training in NC
The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) has been awarded a grant from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to support Fair Housing training for REALTORS® in Brunswick County, reinforcing the association’s ongoing commitment to professional responsibility and equal access to housing.
This grant was made possible through the National Association of REALTORS® Community Development Advocacy Program, which empowers local REALTOR® associations to strengthen their communities through effective advocacy, strategic partnerships, and impactful local initiatives.
Through this funding, BCAR hosted Fair Housing training in February, providing REALTORS® with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Fair Housing Act and enhance their ability to serve all prospective homeowners and renters.
Fair Housing is foundational to a healthy real estate market and thriving communities. Ongoing education and training are essential to upholding housing laws, addressing bias, and ensuring that all qualified buyers and renters are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
“Fair housing is not just a legal requirement — it is a fundamental responsibility of our profession. This grant allows us to further equip our REALTORS® with the knowledge and tools they need to serve every member of our community with fairness, integrity, and respect," said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh.
