Brunswick County Sees Strongest September Home Sales Since 2020
Brunswick County’s residential real estate market recorded its strongest September sales since 2020, with 579 homes sold and year-to-date sales volume exceeding $2.56 billion. Excluding 2020, September’s home sales were the highest for the month in 20 years. Sales, new listings and prices all increased compared to September 2025.
“September’s numbers show that demand for homes is staying strong in Brunswick County,” said Cynthia Walsh, CEO of the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®. “Strong sales, steady prices and more homes to choose from point to continued strength as we head into the typically slower fall and winter months.”
September 2026 Compared to September 2025
New listings increased 8.3%, from 744 to 806. The number of homes sold increased 3.9%, from 557 to 579. The average sales price rose 0.3%, from $493,248 to $494,526, while the median sales price increased 2.7%, from $375,000 to $385,000. Total sales volume rose 4.2%, from $274,738,885 to $286,330,600.
Homes spent approximately 80–85 days on the market, down about five days. The absorption rate held steady at nearly five months, indicating a relatively balanced market. Pending listings also trended slightly higher than in September 2025.
A total of 224 homes sold within 30 days, including 124 resales and 100 newly constructed homes. Those resales sold for nearly 99% of list price and ranged from $135,000 to more than $2 million, with properties located throughout Brunswick County.
Year to Date
Through September, new listings increased 5.1% compared to 2025, from 7,079 to 7,439. The number of homes sold rose 6.8%, from 4,769 to 5,092. The average sales price increased 3.8%, from $482,074 to $500,317, while the median sales price rose 4.0%, from $372,044 to $387,075. Total sales volume increased 11.3%, from $2,301,324,417 to $2,560,443,719.
