BCAR Cares Foundation Raises $5,500 for Fran’s Fans through 3rd annual Boswell’s Breeze Fundraiser
The BCAR Cares Foundation proudly presented a $5,500 donation to Fran's Fans on June 11, continuing a tradition inspired by the late REALTOR® Mike Boswell and his passion for helping local seniors stay safe during the summer months.
The partnership began in 2023 when Mike Boswell approached the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) and asked the organization to consider supporting Fran's Fans, a community program founded by WECT's Frances Weller that provides new box fans to local seniors in need during the hottest months of the year.
After learning more about the program and its impact, BCAR determined that Fran's Fans aligned perfectly with the organization's mission of serving and strengthening the local community. From that shared commitment, the Boswell's Breeze for Fran's Fans Fundraiser was born.
Following Mike's courageous battle with cancer and his passing, BCAR has remained committed to honoring his legacy and continuing the work that meant so much to him.
In May, the BCAR Cares Foundation hosted the Third Annual Boswell's Breeze Fundraiser, bringing together REALTORS® and affiliates throughout Brunswick County in support of the cause. This year, 79 BCAR members participated and contributed a total of $5,500.
On June 11, Frances Weller met with members of the BCAR Cares Committee at Lowe's Home Improvement in Southport, where BCAR presented the donation check. The contribution will provide approximately 245 new box fans for local seniors who may otherwise struggle to stay cool during the summer heat.
The BCAR Cares Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to every member who contributed to this year's fundraiser. Their generosity will help bring comfort, relief, and peace of mind to hundreds of seniors throughout our community.
