Our mission is opening doors beyond real estate—by investing in our community through service, financial support, and volunteerism. Together, we build visibility, grow connections, and strengthen the public's trust in the REALTOR® brand. Our vision is to unite BCAR members in service and support that leaves a lasting imprint on our communities —through real relationships, real impact, and real estate leadership.

How to get involved

Community in Schools

During the month of April, BCAR Cares is collecting donations of individually packaged snacks for Community in Schools. CIS a non-profit that provides local students with a 'community of support' to improve attendance, behavior, and academic performance. Learn more about CIS by visiting their website.

The snacks will be given to the students to take home. Here are some examples of individually packaged snacks:

Granola bars
Fruit cups
Small bags of chips or Goldfish
Fruit snacks

Donations can be dropped off at BCAR - 5051 Main St, Ste 5, Shallotte NC.

Boswell's Breeze Fundraiser

Boswell's Breeze Fundraiser collects donations for "Fran's Fans", which is WECT reporter Frances Weller's program that supplies local seniors with a new fan during the summer heat. Purchase a fan for a senior in need by making a donation.

After a courageous 2-year battle with cancer, REALTOR Mike Boswell was laid to rest on November 25, 2023. Before he passed, he requested that BCAR support Fran's Fans, which was dear to him. Fran's Fans mission aligns perfectly with the mission of the BCAR Cares Foundation, and we will continue to honor Mike's wishes. Click here to meet Mr.Boswell.

Community Clean Up Event

BCAR members from Myrtle Beach to Wilmington are getting their hands dirty by visiting their local park, beach, or road-side to pick up litter.

Here's how you can help:

Step 1. Choose a Team
Ask your co-workers to join you and get a head-count.

Step 2. Choose a Location
The choice is yours. See below to see where other teams are cleaning.

Step 3. Sign Up
Let us know how many team members you have, so we can bring you cleaning supplies.

Holiday Giving Fundraiser

Volunteer of the Year Award

We are not accepting applications at this time.

Purpose: The Volunteer of the Year Award was created to recognize those who have given back to our community, exemplifying what it means to be a BCAR member and a responsible, considerate member of society.

Reward: The winner will be presented with a plaque or trophy at the annual Awards Ceremony (typically in December). The winner will also receive $500 to donate to the charity or organization of their choice. BCAR will advertise the winner on social media.

Before submitting an application, please read the following guidelines:

BCAR Cares Committee will review all applications.
Only BCAR members can submit applications.
No applications will be accepted after the due date.
No applications will be accepted for members on the current BCAR Cares Committee.

Required Application Criteria:

Nominators should write a paragraph or more stating why the nominee should be chosen.
Nominee must be a REALTOR or affiliate member of BCAR.
Nominee should have experience serving with BCAR.
Nominee should have experience serving in other organizations.

*The number of applications received for 1 person will not be considered. The details / work stated on the application will be considered.*

Application for Assistance

If you know of an organization that the BCAR Cares Committee should consider supporting, please apply online. The BCAR Cares Committee will review your request and let you know how we can best help. All applications will be accepted and reviewed, but we typically support organizations through volunteering, monetary assistance, or collection of an item.

Our process for reviewing your application may take 2-3 months. For the quickest response, please be extremely specific in your application.
