Volunteer of the Year award winner donates to Christian Recovery Center
The Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® Cares Task Force created the Volunteer of the Year award in 2021 to recognize the REALTOR® and affiliate members who have given back to the community, exemplifying what it means to be a responsible, considerate member of society. BCAR members may nominate a REALTOR® or affiliate member by submitting an application, which list how the nominee has served their community and BCAR.
Nominated by her peers, the winner of the 5th annual Volunteer of the Year award is Melissa Bell of Real Broker. Melissa received the honor of acceptance into the NC REALTORS® Leadership Academy Class of 2026, so she was unable to attend BCAR's annual Awards Ceremony on December 4th. She was surprised with this award via Facetime call during the award ceremony.
Melissa received a special plaque and $500 to donate to the charity or organization of her choice. Melissa has chosen to give her $500 prize money to the Christian Recovery Center, a non-profit organization that provides free drug and alcohol treatment, recovery, and reentry services for men and women struggling with substance use disorder.
