How to get involved

Clothes for Kids Program (ends August 28, 2026)

July and August 2026

The BCAR Cares Foundation is collecting donations of clothes for Brunswick County Schools. BCS will distribute clothes to all schools. All donations will be accepted but the most needed items include:

Girls leggings (size XS – 2XL)
Girls sports bras (sizes XS – 2XL)
Boys and girls socks (all sizes)
Boys gym shorts (size XS – 2XL)

Please do not donate used clothes.

Donations can be dropped off at BCAR - 5051 Main St, Shallotte.

Summer Book Drive (ends August 28, 2026)

July and August 2026

The BCAR Cares Foundation is collecting donations of new or used children's books in support of Shallotte Rotary Club. Books will be used to fill Rotary's Little Library boxes at local parks, where children can take books.

Books can be dropped off at BCAR - 5051 Main St, Shallotte.

All donors will receive recognition.

Stockings of Care (ends November 1, 2026)

Donate hygiene and personal care products to help community members in need. Your contributions will be collected throughout the year and transformed into holiday care baskets that bring comfort and joy during the holiday season.

Suggestions:

Toothbrush and toothpaste
Shampoo and conditioner
Soap
Deodorant
Lotion
Feminine hygiene products
Razors and shaving cream
Socks

Donations can be dropped off at BCAR: 5051 Main St, Shallotte (beside Trufit)

Deadline to give: November 1, 2026

All donors will receive recognition.

Holiday Giving Fundraiser

Volunteer of the Year Award

Purpose: The Volunteer of the Year Award was created to recognize those who have given back to our community, exemplifying what it means to be a BCAR member and a responsible, considerate member of society.

Reward: The winner will be presented with a plaque or trophy at the annual Awards Ceremony (typically in December). The winner will also receive $500 to donate to the charity or organization of their choice. BCAR will advertise the winner on social media.

Before submitting an application, please read the following guidelines:

BCAR Cares Committee will review all applications.
Only BCAR members can submit applications.
No applications will be accepted after the due date.
No applications will be accepted for members on the current BCAR Cares Committee.

Required Application Criteria:

Nominators should write a paragraph or more stating why the nominee should be chosen.
Nominee must be a REALTOR or affiliate member of BCAR.
Nominee should have experience serving with BCAR.
Nominee should have experience serving in other organizations.

*The number of applications received for 1 person will not be considered. The details / work stated on the application will be considered.*

Application for Assistance

If you know of an organization that the BCAR Cares Committee should consider supporting, please apply online. The BCAR Cares Committee will review your request and let you know how we can best help. All applications will be accepted and reviewed, but we typically support organizations through volunteering, monetary assistance, or collection of an item.

Our process for reviewing your application may take 2-3 months. For the quickest response, please be extremely specific in your application.
